IMPACT EVALUATION

Background: Durham Success Summit is a growing organization that provides guidance and leadership to young men of color through mentor-mentee relationships with industry partners. The Durham Success Summit organizes an annual leadership and personal development conference that  provides college-aged, African American males with the tools, mentorship, and networking to advance their careers and enrich themselves personally. To solve the wage and mentorship gap for African American men aged 18-24, we partner with local universities and community organizations to provide a leadership conference, with speakers from a range of industries and workshops related to personal and professional development. This is an innovative solution to a difficult problem. We introduce our participants to a local network of peers and mentors who they would not otherwise have access to, and our annual programming is something that traditional organizations can’t offer during their calendar year. We are also fostering a network of local supporters, ensuring that these industry leaders align once a year on best practices and new strategies for a greater positive impact on our community.

Project Scope:  

·      Conducting series of evaluation surveys

·      Developing evaluation strategy to analyze impact

·      Coordinating a stakeholder analysis

·      Establishing ongoing evaluation process
